During his military career, he was deployed on several missions, including humanitarian aid operations in the Philippines following Typhoon Haiyan and combat logistics support in Afghanistan, helping secure supply routes and assist local villages during post-conflict recovery. Jay's leadership shined brightest during a high-stakes extraction mission in Helmand Province, where his calm under fire and tactical decisions ensured every Marine under his command made it home. After completing several honorable years of service, Jay returned home changed — stronger, more focused, and ready for the next chapter. Though he remained deeply committed to service, he longed to reconnect with his roots and contribute to his community in a more direct, personal way. That calling led him to the fire service. Jay enrolled in the fire academy and threw himself into the training, excelling in SAFR (Search and Rescue Firefighting) operations. His military background gave him a natural edge in both high-pressure decision-making and physical endurance. One of his most defining moments came during a three-alarm fire at a residential complex, where Jay led a team through dense smoke and unstable floors to rescue a trapped family of four — carrying the youngest child out over his shoulder moments before a partial collapse. On another call, he performed a high-angle rope rescue during a flash flood, rappelling down a cliffside to pull a hiker to safety just minutes before the current swept through. ( this is to make my character more alive like with some Rescues Besides EMS calls) Today, Jay is not only a highly respected firefighter — he's also a local business owner. A few years ago, he fulfilled a longtime dream and opened his own bar: “Rourke's Irish Pub.” Nestled right in the heart of town, it’s a warm, rustic spot where locals gather to unwind, swap stories, and catch a game. The bar has become more than just a business; it's a reflection of Jay’s character — welcoming, grounded, and dependable. With reclaimed wood, With Irish memorabilia on the walls, is as much a community hub as it is a bar. When he's not responding to emergency calls or managing the bar, Jay spends his time hiking, fishing, and hosting backyard cookouts for friends and family. He volunteers with youth mentorship programs, teaches basic first aid at local schools, and always shows up when his town needs him.
